Eduardo Paolozzi

A Centenary Exhibition

As one of the pioneers of Pop Art, Eduardo Paolozzi incorporated popular cultural imagery and found objects within his work. Born 100 years ago in Edinburgh, he grew up in the ice cream parlour owned by his Italian immigrant parents. By the end of his life, he had become one of Britain’s best-known artists, having changed the national landscape with numerous large-scale public commissions, including the mosaic murals at Tottenham Court Road to the monumental public sculpture Newton After Blake outside the British Museum. This centenary exhibition for Nevill Holt Festival 2024 exhibited his work across six decades as a printmaker, sculptor, collage artist and engraver.
